LIBERTYBANK BEND WINTERFEST
ANNOUNCES NEW CHARITY
LibertyBank Bend WinterFest is proud to
support local charities. Since 2005
the event has awarded over $20,000 to
support local charities. Lee Perry,
Event Director for Lay It Out Events,
producers of Bend WinterFest states "these
charities play a vital role in our community
and we want to support them in any way we
can. "
The beneficiary for this year's event
will be the local non-profit organization
Girls Go Outside. Event Director
Lee Perry also stated that "Girls Go Outside
was chosen as the beneficiary this year
because we believe in supporting up and
coming charities that may not receive funds
from other sources. "
The mission of Girls Go Outside is to
create adventures for all girls that
challenge them to embrace and to celebrate
their voices and strengths. Jeanna
Ozyck, Executive Director and Co-Founder of
Girls Go Outside states that "Girls Go
Outside is committed to creating community
on our trips with girls. We do this
through exploring the small communities we
create amongst ourselves over the course of
an adventure as well as engaging in service
projects during our time together. We
are thrilled to have the support of the
Bend community through Winterfest
celebrations fostering the work we are
committed to doing with middle school aged
girls. "
Girls Go Outside will benefit by
receiving 20% of all of the button sales
from the event. WinterFest buttons
will be available for purchase beginning in
December at all LibertyBank branches, all
Les Schwab Tire Centers and other various
locations throughout downtown Bend.
Anyone who buys a WinterFest button will be
entered into the giveaway contest where one
lucky winner will win a fabulous trip to
Hawaii. All button buyers will
receive great discounts and promotions to
many local businesses and restaurants.
LibertyBank Bend WinterFest will be held
on February 8,9 and 10, 2008 in Downtown
Bend across from the Library. This
full scale community event will include the
WinterFest Marketplace, made up of local
artists, crafters and gourmet food
purveyors. There will be live music, a
children's area, snowboard and ski rail
competition, a cross country ski event, a
winter wine walk downtown as well as great
food and much more. All events will
take place in the event center downtown,
plus additional events will be held at the
7th Mountain Resort.
